We&#8217;ve still got crime on our mind.<br \/>\nFirst up, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt2005374\/\" title=\"Frozen Ground\">Frozen Ground<\/a> film news fresh from Alaska.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We have a couple of shots of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0000115\/\" title=\"Nicolas Cage\">Nicolas Cage<\/a> in Anchorage. In this <a title=\"Frozen Ground slideshow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.adn.com\/2011\/10\/19\/2128189\/the-frozen-ground-movie-making.html#id=2172824&amp;view=large_view\">slideshow<\/a>, Cage is seen on the Frozen Ground set. And what would a Nicolas Cage story be without some smack from gossip site TMZ? Their spy camera captures him purchasing a <a title=\"Cage buys $2K knife in Anchorage\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2011\/11\/10\/nicholas-cage-buys-steak-knife-for-two-thousand-dollars\/#.TsQDpWD2w70\">$2,000 ivory-handled knife<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The Anchorage Daily News reports that Alaska filming on &#8220;Frozen Ground&#8221; could wrap by Friday, November 18 &#8212; a one-month shooting schedule.<\/li>\n<li>The Alaska <a href=\"http:\/\/community.adn.com\/?q=adn\/node\/158697\" title=\"Film subsidy backlash\">backlash against film subsidies<\/a>, meanwhile, is starting to heat up. More on this issue in another post.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We also have an update on the Mike McQueary story, in what amounts to another round of <a href=\"http:\/\/butcherbaker.net\/wordpress\/?p=1457\" title=\"Media Counter-Attack\">media counter-attack<\/a>. I&#8217;m guessing anyone who follows the news is already aware of these revelations.<br \/>\nWhat&#8217;s worth comment here is that the basis for much of the reporting is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.attorneygeneral.gov\/uploadedFiles\/Press\/Sandusky-Grand-Jury-Presentment.pdf\" title=\"Sandusky grand jury\">23-page grand jury presentment<\/a>. A <em>summary<\/em> document. It leaves out details. That gives the folks involved a brief-window to manage the news by releasing self-serving details of their own. My money is still on <a href=\"http:\/\/connect.pennlive.com\/user\/sganim\/index.html\" title=\"Sara Ganim\">Sara Ganim<\/a>, the intrepid reporter who first broke this story.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/articles.mcall.com\/2011-11-15\/sports\/mc-penn-state-scandal-mcqueary-20111115_1_grand-jury-report-joe-paterno-penn-state\" title=\"McQueary email\">McQueary<\/a>: &#8220;I did stop it.&#8221; The leaked email also claims McQueary <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pennlive.com\/midstate\/index.ssf\/2011\/11\/mike_mcqueary_key_witness_in_j.html#incart_mce\" title=\"McQueary claims he told police\">went to the police<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pennlive.com\/midstate\/index.ssf\/2011\/11\/mcquearys_statement_in_line_wi.html\" title=\"Sara Ganim\">Sara Ganim counters<\/a>: Mike McQueary&#8217;s statement to police doesn&#8217;t say he stopped attack or notified police about Sandusky&#8217;s actions.\n<li>McQueary&#8217;s exclusive <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=RV9alGXujls\" title=\"McQueary CBS\">CBS interview<\/a>.
