Random Thoughts: My New Book!

Announcements

My latest book, Kill Brother, Kill Sister, is out and about. You can get it at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other fine bookstores (paperback and ebook). My thoughts? As its author and caretaker, it’s probably my best book ever. But that’s like telling tales on your children. Of course, all of them are special!

Coming Soon

I am (sigh) working on some videos, a podcast and other vehicles to promote Kill Brother, Kill Sister. I have some thoughts about that. As might be expected, this is a new venture for me and, well, there’s a learning curve. Most of it, thankfully, is on the technical side of the ledger. Fortunately, I already had all the software. But, hey, I’ve been writing for decades and now this? Oh well. Get with the times!

My Thoughts: “One minute? I’ve only get one minute? Geez, really? Thanks Instagram. Really. Thank you very much.”

The premier episodes will drop soon, so my thoughts right now are focused on letting you know. That way, the pressure’s on. (Yes, nagging is okay.) Here’s a teaser:

Alaska Bookweek

Just being in Anchorage for this yearly festival of writers is an unmitigated joy. Maybe I’m biased (I am biased) but writers are among the most interesting people in the world. So many stories. So many storytellers. And at this event, it’s all about Alaska writers. I’m guessing it’s those long winters…

I was teamed with Stan Jones as we balanced the pushes and pulls between truth and fiction. Our conclusion: Fiction is harder because, unlike the truth, fiction has to make sense. That said, nonfiction writers have at least one distinction: they can be sued. In fact, it’s been brought to my attention that there’s a Sue Virus going around…

Other Thoughts

As I’m wont to say, Kill Brother is my COVID book. As in, I wrote it during an epidemic. One of the side effects of that routine was my inability to enter the State of Alaska. So, it was good to be back. Physically back. I’ve got new video and still photos of important landmarks from Kill Brother. I’m sharing one below!
