Huck Finn is Dead

In 1997, I started a book called “Huck Finn is Dead.” It made the rounds of the top New York publishers, but didn’t catch on. Even so, my agent had faith in the work and always encouraged me to revisit it sometime. So… During the summer of 2011 and through 2012, Huck Finn is Dead enjoyed a major re-write.

I have finally published it. As an eBook on Amazon.com. Huck Finn is Dead.

Yeah, it’s a catchy title and I wouldn’t change it for anything. But if I’d been thinking about SEO (search engine optimization) I might have chosen one with a little less competition. Jeez. The title, by the way, comes from a man who counseled runaway kids. His message: it’s too dangerous for kids to embark on cross-country journeys of self-discovery. “Huck Finn is dead,” he told them. Indeed.
