Robert Hansen’s agreement to confess his murders came in a multitude of steps. First, a desire to “clear the decks.” Then the dithering with his attorneys, asking for time to contemplate the gravity of what he was about to do.

Then there was a back and forth about the specifics of his agreement with the State of Alaska. And then… A lot of bullshit. But he finally came into the District Attorney’s Office in Anchorage. This is the first installment of that confession.
