As if the publishing scene weren’t diverse enough already, the Perseus Books Group has announced a distribution and marketing service aimed at self-publishing. I’m reminded that it wasn’t that long ago (1998) that we saw movies like “You’ve Got Mail” not-so-subtly lamenting the loss of the small bookstore to chainstores like, I dunno… Borders?
