The Butcher, Baker on Oxygen

Mark of a Killer

NEW HANSEN DOCUMENTARY PREMIERES

This is your Third Reminder! I worked on this Mark of a Killer episode last Fall and now it’s ready for prime-time.

On a personal note, it was a tough shoot. The producers picked a charming brick building with its back to Century Link field and… the railroad tracks in SoDo. More than once — or, at least once! — I was in the midst of saying something “brilliant,” when the perfect take was interrupted by the wail of a train horn. Cut! Let’s try that again!

Episode: 206 Robert Hansen
Date: Thursday, May 14
Time: 8pm EST
Network: Oxygen – https://www.oxygen.com/

In case you’re unfamiliar with Mark of a Killer (MOAK), this series focuses on a single aspect of true-crime: the unique methods that stand as hallmarks of a killer. Hence the show’s name.

Robert Hansen (police photo)

Robert Hansen’s hallmark was that he stalked and killed humans. More than that, he used the vast bush country surrounding Anchorage as his hunting grounds. Early in his killing career, he used a car or his camper to get to these remote places. By the end, he was flying young women to the remote Knik River in his private plane. There, he chased them down and killed them, in what became the ultimate hunt.
